Peter Shergold on Leadership Peter Shergold has contributed a set of five short videos on leadership to the Deloitte Leadership Academy. Based on his own experience in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, Peter discusses the importance of acting with integrity, fostering teamwork, championing change and providing strategic direction. One video on stewardship and sustainability focuses in particular on the challenge of leading nonprofit organisations.

Abolishing Poverty - The Human Rights Priority At a free public lecture event in Sydney, Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, spoke on Abolishing Poverty as a Human Rights Priority. Professor Yunus established the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh in 1983, fuelled by the belief that credit is a fundamental human right. In that time, Grameen Bank has lifted millions out of poverty by disbursing millions of tiny loans to the poor. The event was a collaboration between the Centre for Social Impact, Business for Millennium Development, World Vision and the Sydney Peace Prize. |
