Registration now open for 2009 Annual PwC Transparency Awards
October 15, 2009

As part of CSI's support for the improvement of transparency and quality of reporting in the not-for-profit sector, we have joined with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia to launch the 2009 PwC Transparency Awards.

The Awards give not-for-profit organisations the opportunity to demonstrate that they value transparency and quality of reporting. The winner and runner-up receive $20,000 and $10,000 respectively for training or study tours. All applicants receive free places on a CSI advanced executive course on reporting.

Participation rates in the 2008 Awards grew by 22%, reinforcing the commitment of the sector to transparency in reporting. The practical benefits of the feedback received through participating was demonstrated by a 9% improvement in overall scores.

Benefits of participation in the Awards include:

  • Use of the in-depth feedback report to identify strengths and areas for improvement in the reporting process of the organisation
  • Increased ability to secure funding through building increased trust with donors
  • Creation of further opportunities to engage recipients of services.

"Initiatives like the PwC Transparency Awards draw attention to the importance of reporting in the not-for-sector. JDRF benefited from the individual feedback report received which has helped us further improve the quality of our reporting", said Mike Wilson, CEO, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, inaugural winner of the 2007 Awards.

To be a part of these Awards and receive individual feedback, register online by Friday 30 October 2009. For further information, please contact Anita Burer on 03 8603 6798.
