CSI featured in launch edition of Knowledge@ASB

K-at-asbThe Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales has joined the Knowledge@Wharton network with its online business journal, Knowledge@Australian School of Business.

The new journal, which is free and published every two weeks, features a special section on social impact with articles on topics such as social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the role of the not-for-profit sector.

The launch edition of Knowledge@Australian School of Business includes two articles featuring interviews with academics from the Centre for Social Impact, as well as articles on not-for-profit management, multinational CSR initiatives and social entrepreneurship ventures around the globe.

‘Corporate Social Responsibility - how it passed the acid test' examines corporate social responsibility in light of the global financial crisis and features an interview with Professor Peter Shergold, Macquarie Group Foundation Chair in Social Impact at the Centre for Social Impact.

‘Deep Impact - measuring the value in social entrepreneurship' explores new models for social entrepreneurship and includes an interview with Associate Professor Cheryl Kernot, Director of Social Enterprise at the Centre for Social Impact.

Speaking at the launch of Knowledge@Australian School of Business, Professor Alec Cameron, Dean of the Australian School of Business, said the journal will bring global visibility to the School, its academics and their research.

"Knowledge@Australian School of Business will play an important role in helping to bring together the worlds of academia and business. One of the functions of business schools is to inform public debate on business practice and government policy. Knowledge@Australian School of Business will translate our academic research so that business people can put it into practice," he said.

Professor Michael Gibbons, Deputy Dean of the Wharton School was in Sydney for the launch. "At Wharton we are committed to leading the world in the creation and dissemination of business knowledge. The launch of the new Knowledge@Australian School of Business edition will bring regionally focused insight and analysis to the business community in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world," he said.

Knowledge@Wharton, the award-winning online research and business analysis journal of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has 1.4 million subscribers in 189 countries via editions in the U.S., Latin America, China, India, the Middle East and now Australia.
