CSI director of social enterprise Cheryl Kernot recently transfixed an audience at the State Library of Queensland on the subject of social entrepreneurial practice and how it could transform Australia.
Cheryl drew on the ideas from her acclaimed article "A Quiet Revolution" in Griffith REVIEW 24: Participation Society to explain how Australia could nurture social entrepreneurs who have the agility, imagination and perseverance to address global and local challenges, adding a social and environmental bottom line to the traditional profit and loss statement.
Her talk was described as "a great subject", "deep-thinking, provocative", "excellent and certainly inspiring" and "not long enough".
